Hi Guys,
I am writing this on a fading laptop battery. By morning hopefully, we will have power back on but who knows such has been the circumstances surrounding this cyclone. Apparently, the repair guys have been stood down till Monday - for their safety although looking out the window and at the reports I’m not sure why… (and this is incorrect for which I have already been informed by SMS thank you Cheryl as the crews are on the ground!)
At the time of writing the (now ex) cyclone Alfred has not made landfall. Apparently, this can happen and is not unprecedented. In 2009 Cyclone Hamish paralleled the coastline then dissipated. But Alfred has not followed the script at all and creates many questions in its path. Why did our prime minister feel it necessary to announce that Queensland would ‘build back better’ after the cyclone and why do we have shutdowns, power outages and media ramp ups that do not fit with what has actually happened… all a bit strange. Clearly there have been many people that have been majorly affected but the crisis has certainly been put to good use.
I do, however, look forward to discussing experiences and thoughts as to what did and did not happen tomorrow and maybe we will discuss some more issues related to blood or medications or milk - or some combinations thereof.
Plenty more to discuss of course including the soft launch of the Journal of Bionanotechnocracy soon, weather permitting of course.
We have as instructed moved our rubbish bins to a safe location lest they become flying hazards. This person was not so lucky:
The link for the morning is as below and I look forward to the discussion.
All the best or the weekend. I am about to go for a walk.
Cheers
David
